“If this man is everything that you say he is, then this city needs me.” – Bruce Wayne , The Dark Knight Rises. After Alfred alerts Bruce that Bane is wreaking havoc on Gotham, Bruce makes the decision to go back out into the city as Gotham’s hero, Batman.
Because he’s the hero Gotham deserves , but not the one it needs right now, so we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it, because he’s not a hero . He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight. Joker: Madness, as you know, is like gravity, all it takes is a little push.
This quote is explained by another quote in the movie about Harvey Dent “he is a hero , not the hero we deserved but the hero we needed”. When Gordon says that Batman is the hero they deserve he means that the dark and flawed city of Gotham needs a flawed and dark knight watching over them.
Alfred Pennyworth : Endure, Master Wayne . Take it. They’ll hate you for it, but that’s the point of Batman , he can be the outcast. He can make the choice that no one else can make, the right choice.
The reason I believe Batman doesn’t kill his enemies because he doesn’t want to become a monster like his enemies. He can kill his enemies if he wants too, but he doesn’t because he has a moral code which prevents him from becoming a murderer like the Joker. It isn’t Batman’s job to kill his villains.
Batman’s no-kill rule is the foundation of his character, but has put him in great perils. Batman’s greatest weaknesses such as his humanity, vulnerability, and moralities – while weakening him – are also his greatest strengths.
” You either die a hero , or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Harvey Dent spoke these words in the final scene of the movie, Batman: The Dark Knight.
Batman is a DC comic super hero and the defender of Gotham City. Batman is very courageous because he doesn’t have any superpowers but still has the courage to face crazy villains and dangerous criminals. Batman puts his life in danger for his city and that makes him a courageous hero .
They do actually ” need ” Batman to keep protecting Gotham , but after how they wanted him to turn himself in/blamed him for the city’s problems, they don’t really “deserve” him.
Alfred Pennyworth: Why do we fall , sir? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. Alfred Pennyworth: Never.
Why so serious ? is a famous line from the movie The Dark Knight. Spoken by the villainous Joker, it plays on his clownish appearance and cheerful demeanor, which stays in place even while he does violent or gruesome things. Why so serious ? has also become a popular meme, usually paired with images of the Joker.
“ Do I really look like a guy with a plan ? You know what I am ? I’m a dog chasing cars. I wouldn’t know what to do with one if I caught it!
In the Post-Crisis comics continuity, Alfred has been the Wayne family valet all of Bruce’s life and had helped his master establish his superhero career from the beginning. In addition, he was Bruce’s legal guardian following the deaths of his parents.
After dealing with the bully, Bruce asks Alfred to stay and he readily agrees. This situation clearly shows that Alfred’s fatherly feelings towards Bruce . During the initial days of Batman, Bruce received a lot of bruises and wounds. Not because he knew the truth but because of Alfred’s motherly feelings on him.
“The Man Who Falls ” storyline served as an influence for Christopher Nolan’s 2005 film Batman Begins. While playing at Wayne Manor, a young Bruce Wayne falls down a dry well and is attacked by a swarm of bats. He is eventually rescued by his father.
