The phrase calls on a weight which is implied to be your past or your worries, and asserts that you WILL carry them. It isn’t so much a melancholic statement of how people must live with regret but rather an assertion that your regret will be there but will not slow you down.
It’s always been an upsetting scene, but that thud helps illustrate a disconnect in Bebop, one Julia points out in her final words to Spike : “It’s all a dream.” As she dies, Spike mournfully agrees with her. For Spike , this is not literally a dream, but the start of a grieving process that will end with his own death .
Even Ed and Ein were confused by the show’s cancellation. The show’s depiction of violence and drugs came at a bad time in Japan’s history. An increase in violence, especially in schools, had the country on edge. As a result, Cowboy Bebop was briefly canceled and “Session XX: Mish-Mash Blues” was born.

One day in 2068, she nursed Spike back to health after he was critically injured and collapsed outside her apartment. That night started a dangerous affair that led to Spike offering to abandon the Syndicate and elope with her, despite the fact that the Syndicate punishes desertion with death.

Created in 1998, Cowboy Bebop became an instant hit in Japan and America, becoming a gateway series into anime with its vision into the future of humanity in space. A blend of film noir, action, and comedy, it stands as one of the best anime series ever created.
Cowboy Bebop is an after-life dream that Spike has; he’s stuck between life and the after-life (an allusion to this is his different color eyes). So in essence, Spike’s death at the end of Real Folk Blues was his awakening to the fact that he was already dead and that it was time to move on (“look my eyes, faye.
Its an ending that while sad , offers an extreme amount of closure for some characters which in its own way is happy. It’s worth watching, i hate seeing sad endings over and over again too and i still thoroughly enjoyed it.
