To celebrate the anniversary — and its collision with Hump Day — mean girls (and boys) around the world have been posting pictures on social media, showing themselves decked out in pink . Even organizations like Planned Parenthood are participating.
This line was spoken by Karen Smith (played by Amanda Seyfried) in Mean Girls, directed by Mark Waters (2004). The Plastics, who are the once and future queens of Northshore High, have more rules than Fight Club. And one of their most important maxims is that no color but pink is allowed on hump day.
MEAN GIRLS | On Wednesdays we wear pink!
On 23 October, we wore it pink , raised money and now it’s time to make life-saving breast cancer research and life-changing care happen. Why ? Because breast cancer is still here.
Pink has been the color of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation since it’s start. In 1990, the first breast cancer survivor program was launched at the Susan G. Now, people will wear pink shirts, pink socks, pink scarves and other pink items to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
AND it’s Mean Girls Day! Why this October 3rd is life!
To dress like a Mean Girl , you must live by these rules : Never wear strappy shoes with a mini-skirt. Always match your shoes to your skirt color unless you’re wearing boots. Never wear a tank top two days in a row. You can only wear your hair in a ponytail once a week. No one can wear hoop earrings, that’s Regina’s thing.
But, one motivational quote we will forever take away from Regina George is this: “Whatever. I’m getting cheese fries.” Other than that, Regina George was the betch you didn’t want to cross… and god help you if you did because the mean girl wrath is never forgiving on anyone.
3 and a Wednesday and Mean Girls fans literally cannot handle the excitement, as they pay homage to the film by wearing pink . In the movie, Lindsay Lohan’s character, Cady Heron, first speaks to her crush on Oct . 3 . And in the movie, Wednesday is for wearing pink .
