A quote for any occasion
Robinson , you ‘re trying to seduce me . Aren’t you ?
Mrs . Robinson is the original cougar, so to speak. She seduces Benjamin simply because she is tired of her marriage and wants a fun sexual encounter.
Angela Lansbury auditioned to play Mrs. Robinson. Carol Lynley was considered for the role of Elaine . Sue Lyon was on producer Lawrence Turmans handwritten wish list of 13 actresses for Mrs Robinsons daughter, Elaine .
According to Susan Hayward’s biographers, Mike Nichols originally wanted her for the role of Mrs. Robinson, but she declined because she wanted to avoid modifying her screen image. After Doris Day and Patricia Neal also turned it down, Nichols eventually offered it to Anne Bancroft .
A crucial point to understand the scene that Summer cried is that one when she was on the bed with Tom, telling him about the dreams she used to have about the felling of completely loneliness. She formed empathy with the same fellings of the couple in the very tragic end of Graduate .
Mrs . Robinson is a term used to describe an older woman pursuing someone younger than herself, in reference to the character from the 1967 movie The Graduate.

-When Benjamin is talking with Mrs. Robinson during their affair, she reveals to him that her daughter, Elaine , was conceived accidentally in the back seat of a car (They specify the model, but I can’t remember what it was – part of the fuzziness).
The fact that Elaine cries, “Not for me” in response implies that Elaine sees Mrs. Robinson’s phrase as referring to her entire future (The Graduate ). Elaine (as well as Ben) has felt pressure to follow the same high-class, alienated lifestyle as her parents.
Robinson” even became a slang term for a sexually aggressive older woman, what we today might call a “cougar.” But Bancroft was only 35 when the film was shot, and Hoffman was 29.
The film never reveals her first name ; she is merely “ Mrs . Robinson ”: a name , but not a self.
But if you want to make a baby boomer maudlin with nostalgia, look no further than the Alfa Romeo 1600 Duetto Spider , driven by Dustin Hoffman in 1967’s The Graduate.
