A free-spirited and mischievous young boy who can fly and never grows up , Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood having adventures on the mythical island of Neverland as the leader of the Lost Boys, interacting with fairies, pirates, mermaids, Native Americans, and occasionally ordinary children from the world
Other possible contributing factors in his suicide were his alcoholism and ill health (he was suffering from emphysema), as well as the knowledge that his wife and all three of their sons had inherited the fatal Huntington’s disease. In April 1960, Peter threw himself under a subway train in London. Barrie died of pneumonia in 1937.

5 Is Peter Pan Actually A Bad Guy ? While other versions of Peter Pan have framed the boy who wouldn’t grow up as a villain , Disney’s adaption does not. They try to prove to the audience that Peter Pan is a good guy , however, his actions prove differently. The lost boys had to come from somewhere.

Powers and Abilities. Peter Pan was one of the most powerful villains ever faced, so powerful that even his son, Rumplestiltskin, the dark one was scared of him (although he may have just feared him so much because he was his father).
In both book and play, Peter murders pirates easily, without a care. In the book, we learn that Peter kills the Lost Boys too, either to “thin the herd” or because they are growing up, which is against the rules.
J. M. Barrie’s original story says that once the lost boys get older Peter ‘thins them out”. So when they get too old he kills them. Another version says Peter Pan is actually an angel and Neverland is heaven . In this version all of the lost boys are dead and Peter is helping them find their way to heaven .
