A quote for any occasion
LENNON : “I think ‘ All Things Must Pass ‘ was all right. It just went on too long.”
In the case of “ All Things Must Pass ,” grieving Beatles fans heard it as Harrison’s way of saying that they should let the band go following its breakup in 1970. When he passed away in 2002, the song seemed like his final message to mourners all over the world.
Among the large cast of backing musicians were Eric Clapton and members of Delaney & Bonnie’s Friends band – three of whom formed Derek and the Dominos with Clapton during the recording – as well as Ringo Starr, Gary Wright, Preston, Klaus Voormann, John Barham, Badfinger and Pete Drake.
The title of the Richest Beatle belongs to Sir Paul McCartney . This comes to no surprise since he’s had one of the most prolific music careers in the world. He’s worth an astonishing $1.2 billion, and here’s why. Aside from being one of the main songwriters in the band, his career post-Beatles is just as impressive.
There’s no telling what he (or George ) would have done in the coming decades had they survived. But, as things stand, Paul McCartney has been the most successful recording artist of any ex-Beatle since the group split up nearly 50 years ago.

The contributing members of Badfinger were percussionist Mike Gibbins and guitarists Tom Evans, Pete Ham and Joey Molland. Guitarist Peter Frampton also appeared uncredited. The first four sides of the album featured 18-tracks, two versions of “Isn’t It A Pity” among them.
The musicians who performed on Harrison’s All Things Must Pass version of the song are believed to be as follows: George Harrison – vocals, acoustic guitar, slide guitar, backing vocals. Eric Clapton – acoustic guitar, backing vocals. Pete Drake – pedal steel. Billy Preston – piano.
In terms of sales, All Things Must Pass went gold by December ’70 and kept selling big through 1971. It has been certified platinum six times by the RIAA, which means it logged over 3 million sales as a double album in the U.S.
But as far as the public knew, this was just a temporary state of affairs. That all changed on April 10, 1970, when an ambiguous Paul McCartney “self-interview” was seized upon by the international media as an official announcement of a Beatles breakup.
Every Beatles fan knows George could play the guitar and the sitar. But he was also well accomplished on the conga drum , the African drum , the xylophone, violin, harmonica, marimba, and glockenspiel.
He is the son of George and Olivia Harrison .
